This is a technology which evolved in Switzerland for the precision watch making industry and till date the Fine Blanking Press industry is dominated by Switzerland. Automobile, Electrical, Medical Equipment etc are the major consumers of Fine Blanked components

 

Background of the Fine blanking industry in India

 

Setting up a Fine blanking unit needs excellent skills in toolmaking with specific understanding about precision components. This is also a requirement for a vastly higher capital layout in equipment as compared to a standard pressed components industry.

 

Given this background there were only a handful of players in this industry in India for the past many years. These were basically large corporate who had a Fine blanking unit for producing components for internal consumption and used the spare capacity to produce for other customers.
